Jeanne Guerra At The IPL!

Author Jeanne Guerra will be at the Independence Public Library on May 9th, 2015 for a Book Signing and Author Visit. She'll discuss her book Overalls, Oatmeal, & Dreams, which is based on Independence's Wapsipinicon Mill. All ages are welcome, and there is no registration required. The Author Visit is from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM this Saturday.

Triumph Over Destiny

Author Peladija Woodson-Diers will give a presentation on Monday morning at 10:00am.  Peladija wrote a book, Triumph Over Destiny, about her parent's survival from WWII Austria to America. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing after the presentation.

Interested in reading the book, but unable to attend the program?  The library has a copy of Triumph Over Destiny that you may ask to be put on the waiting list.

Explore Highway 20 With Local Author

Join the Independence Public Library as we review the history of the original highway 20 with Michael Till through his book Along Iowa's Historic Highway 20. The author will present the book and the highway's story through over 200 antique postcards.
Books will be signed and available for purchase after the presentation. All are welcome to attend, no registration or library card is required. This event is free and open to the public, and will be held next Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014 at 6:30 PM.

Meet Local & Regional Authors at The IPL

The CAMEO Series has another opportunity to meet face to face with great authors. The Author Fair will be open from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 11th. Seven authors will be available to meet and discover, and patrons will have the chance to hear each speak. The speaking schedule is listed below and on the IPL website. CAMEO Author Visit: Saloma Miller Furlong

The last in the CAMEO Author series is a returning favorite. Saloma Miller Furlong visited the Independence Public Library in 2011 to discuss her book Why I Left The Amish. This year she is back to revisit her first book and highlight her second, Bonnet Strings.
