Artist Showcase At The IPL!

Join the Independence Public Library for an Artist Showcase with Katie Bell. Her mixed media artwork will be available for viewing on Thursday (May 7th) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday (May 8th) from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday (May 9th) from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Artist Reception will be held on Saturady (May 9th) from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The artist will be available at that time for questions and comments.

Artist Showcase

This month's Artist Showcase will feature students of the Independence Community School District in 7th -12th grades. Their art, created in classes with Chris Juhl, will be on display Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with an artist's reception on Sunday when some of the artist may be available for questions and photographs. The Artist Showcase is free and open to the public.

Artist Showcase

This month's Artist Showcase will feature art work from Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade students from the Independence Community School District's East Elementary. The art will be on display February 13th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, February 14th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and February 15th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The Artist Reception will be on Sunday the 15th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Artist Showcase!

This month's Artist Showcase features metal and glass art by Ryan Halbur of Iowa Creations. His pieces are made using reclaimed metal, wood and glass.

The art work will be on display from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, January 9th; from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 10th; and from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 11th. The Artist Reception will be on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Artist Showcase: David Foix

This Month's Artist Showcase will feature David Foix. His nature photography will be on display Friday through Sunday in the Community Room at the Independence Public Library. An Artist reception will be held on Sunday when the artist will be available for questions and comments. Come support a local photographer and view his beautiful work.

Watercolors & Ceramics at The Independence Public Library

This weekend the IPL will host an Artist Showcase for the work of Myrtle Miller Lake Dusman. Please join us for for original Watercolor and Ceramic artwork, supplied by the family for display.

The display will be available for viewing on Saturday (Nov. 8th) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday (Nov. 9th) from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The reception will be held on Sunday, and family of the late artist will be available to discuss the artwork and the artist.

Past & Present At The IPL

The "Mini Face Lift" is taking shape and most of it can be seen now at the Independence Public Library. We have new computers, new shelving, and more space. Stop in and tell us what you think. While you're here, pop into the Community Room and take a look at history. The Artist Showcase will feature art from the collection of the Buchanan County, Iowa Historical Society. The Artist Showcase runs tomorrow (Spetember 13th) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday (September 14th) from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Sunday will also be the reception, with members of the historical society in attendance.
