NEIBORS Is Changing To BRIDGES!

Patrons that enjoy checking out digital eBooks and Audiobooks through the NEIBORS program, should brace themselves for some good news! NEIBORS is switching to BRIDGES! July 15th is the big day.
What does this mean for you? More books! BRIDGES will combine NEIBORS (the consortium the IPL belongs to) with WILBOR (another large consortium in Iowa) and other libraries to create one large consortium for the whole state of Iowa. This will pool all the eBooks and Audiobooks for all patrons to use.
There's nothing you need to do. When the switch to BRIDGES happens, the icon and some of the colors will change on the site, but you will still be able to log in with your Library Card Number and your Phone Number; and you will still be able to get to the site through your Overdrive App and the link on the IPL Website.

Making Changes!

 We've been mixing it up here at the IPL. The book shelves have been doing a little bit of moving, and so have some of our computers, even the Community Room is in on the act with fresh paint and new carpet. If you haven't seen the new computer stations, stop in and tell us what you think. If you've already been in, don't be alarmed by the empty computer stations near the circulation desk, we aren't quite done with our change up. Next week (September 9th & 10th) the library will be closed to the public so we can work in a little more new. Be sure to stop in on September 11th and see the new look at the library.

It's Paperback Book Day!

Everyday is a great day to read a book, but today is Paperback Book Day. So celebrate by reaching for some floppy pages. Stop by the library and checkout one of our new paperbacks. There's a little of something for everyone.

If you've finished all your favorites or you're just looking to branch out on your reading list, take a look at the IPL Dispatch newsletters. They're a great way to get a look at the New Shelf before you even walk in the door. Once you sign up, each of the editions you selected will go straight to your e-mail every fourth Tuesday. Sign up for all of them, and get an update on fresh materials every week.
