Genealogy At The IPL!

Starting February 28th, the Independence Public Library will be hosting a series of Genealogy Sessions in the Community Room. You can get the basics in Genealogy 101 this Saturday (Feb. 28th) with Tony Bengston, and take more specific courses in the month of March. You can view the entire collection of Genealogy Sessions by clicking here or by visiting the IPL Website. If you would like to register for Genealogy 101 or any of the other Genealogy Sessions, you can stop in at the library or give us a call at 334-2470. All courses are free, but registration is required.

Family Fort Night At The IPL!

Join the Independence Public Library for Family Fort Night after hours on February 20th, 2015. Bring blankets, pillows, and sheets to build a fort in the library. We'll have stories, snacks, and a whole lot of fun for all ages! If you'd like to come, please register at the library or call us at 334-2470.

iPad Q&A At The IPL!

The Independence Public Library will hold another iPad Q&A session on February 2nd, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the Community Room. For more information or to register for the class, contact the library at 334-2470. The class will be taught by Kim Van Deest, and participants are encouraged to bring their iPad with them to learn in class.

New iPad? Looking for some tips and tricks to get more out of your iPad? Register for iPad Q&A at the IPL. The Class will be taught by Kim Van Deest, and will run from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on January 13th, 2015. The class is free and open to the public,but registration is required. You are encouraged to bring your iPad with you to class. If you can't make it on the 13th there will be another iPad Q&A class available in February.

Explore Ancestry.com With The IPL

Patrons who would like to dig into their family history, can look no further than the Independence Public Library. While you're at the IPL give Ancestry.com a try. It's free to access when you use the IPL's computers or WiFi. If you're not sure how to get started, or have your own account with Ancestry.com and would like to pick up some tips, sign up for our Ancestry.com Class with Tony Bengston. The class starts at 6:00 PM on December 8th. If you have any questions or would like to register, call us at 334-2470.

Minecraft After Hours @ The IPL

Join other Teens and Tweens who love Minecraft tomorrow night at the Independence Public Library. Be sure to register with your username at the IPL. (You can also call us at 334-2470) All the fun starts tomorrow night (Nov. 14th) at 5:00 PM after the library closes.
